The Microsoft Surface lineup is one of the most successful lineups on the market but it seems like the Surface devices were not so popular and appreciated back in the days where the Surface laptop was just a concept. Among the ones that had doubts was Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple.
Apple CEO Was Wrong
When Tim Cook was asked by an Wall Street analyst if Apple would create a 2-in-1 laptop, the CEO answered ironically to the question. He reported that it doesn’t matter if you combine two objects, they are still not going to please the customer. Since then, Apple released just two versions of the iPad Pro while the Surface Pro is already at its 4th generation laptop and it seems like there will be a Surface Pro 5 release next year. Microsoft is making fun of Apple even in their commercials. Last summer, the tech company launched a series of TV commercials against Apple’s statement that the iPad Pro is a better laptop than the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft also declared that at the tech giant they are concentrating more on the smartphones business, which means that Microsoft is trying to improve the apps and tools. Also, the tech company will release soon the Surface Studio which is an unique combination between a tablet and a PC.
The Two Devices Were Compared
It seems like the Surface Pro 4 has a 12.3-inch display while the iPad Pro has a 12.9-inch one. Also, when it comes to internal storage, the Surface Pro can be upgraded up to 1 TB while the iPad Pro’s space storage can be extended to just 256 GB. This might be an inconvenience for the iPad Pro users because they may not have enough internal storage for their data. On the back of the devices, both have a 8-megapixels camera but in the front, the Surface Pro 4 has a 5-megapixel one while the iPad Pro features a 1.2-megapixel camera.
That being said, the Surface Pro lineup is a great lineup, despite the critics that have been said by Apple’s CEO. From a simple concept, the Surface Pro lineup became the most appreciated laptop lineups on the market. What are your thoughts about the Surface Pro lineup? Let us know in a comment below.
