Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, and Xperia Z1 Compact KitKat update with bug fix has been released, owners should start checking the notification bar of their handsets right now. Sony has now officially confirmed that they have released an updated firmware which seems to fix the sound issue which has been a cause of worry among too many customers for quite a while now.
Carrying the firmware version 14.3.A.0.757, this update is currently rolling out to Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, and Xperia Z1 devices based in a host of countries. The update doesn’t bring any new feature on the table, however, it does fix the sound bug in which noises from the handset were coming from the internal speaker instead of the external one. So obviously, this is one of those updates which you wouldn’t want to miss out on.
As usual, Sony is rolling out this firmware update through the good old OTA (Over The Air) method, which means that the update will be made available for the Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, and Xperia Z1 Compact devices in major markets first and will soon make its way through to the rest of the markets.
We are yet to hear it from the US users of any of the above mentioned devices, however, the Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, and Xperia Z1 Compact users based in UK, Germany, Russia, France, Austria, Sweden and a few other major countries have confirmed to be receiving this update.
In case you still haven’t got the update notification on your Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, or Xperia Z1, you can always try pulling the update manually by diving into Settings and then tapping on the “Check Now” option found under Software Updates. Interested folks can also use Sony’s official PC suite too.
The changelog doesn’t really mention anything apart from the sound bug fix which we mentioned above, however, we would still love to hear it from the Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, and Xperia Z1 Compact users in the comment box below if they have noticed any major changes after updating to 14.3.A.0.757.
