Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update Still Not Rolled Out, 4.2.2 Release Also Not Close

Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update Still Not Rolled Out, 4.2.2 Release Also Not Close Samsung Galaxy S33Samsung Galaxy S3 was one of the best phone of previous year and while the device initially came out with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, Samsung was kind enough to roll out an Android 4.1 update shortly after the firmware release.

A similar thing happened with Android 4.2 flavored Jelly Bean. It was only a matter of few weeks after the 4.2 release and most of the Samsung Galaxy S3 users were rocking the new firmware. So when Android 4.2.2 was released, every Samsung Galaxy S3 owner started checking their notification center in awe of a new update, but alas, no such thing happened and the Galaxy S3 owners were left stuck with Android 4.2.

SamMobile, as their name suggests is a Samsung-centric news blog, has previously reported several times that Samsung is bound to receive the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update at some point of time. However, the exact release date was never confirmed by the South Korean tech giant.

On the other hand, some other reports have also speculated that Samsung might update its ex-flagship phone directly to Android 4.3 instead of wasting its servers on Android 4.2.2. This speculation further gains weight when we consider the fact that a spokesperson from Samsung UK has already said that “Samsung will confirm upgrade plans to Android 4.3 to selected Galaxy devices in the coming months.” Some other reports point towards November as possible release date for Samsung Galaxy S3.

It is also worth mentioning here that an Australian carrier which goes by the name Telstra has confirmed that the “older” devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3 won’t be getting Android 4.2.2 update. Of course, Australian carriers and US carriers work differently, but this is simply the worse case scenario in which the Galaxy S3 owners won’t be left with any other choice except to go down the hackery road.
