HTC One Android 4.4 KitKat update has already been confirmed to be released in the next 90 days for all variants, and while the Developer Edition and the Google Play Edition of the One are all set to enjoy the sweet taste of KitKat, here are the latest developments.
Today, some details arrived from HTC President Jason Mackenzie himself, he declared that the HTC One Android 4.4 KitKat update in the United States will be adding the new HTC Sense 5.5 to users on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. The HTC Sense 5.5 upgrade has already arrived to users in several other countries (the United States still hasn’t received it.)
Sense 5.5 isn’t that big of an update, but it adds some nice features like upgrades to HTC BlinkFeed and HTC Zoe, along with several more enhancements and fixes. Adding Sense 5.5 to Android 4.4 Kit Kat, should give users a really exciting update.
The exact release date for the update hasn’t been announced yet, but according to HTC’s statements, we expect the update to arrive in mid January.
Even if HTC is promising to update soon, don’t get too excited, HTC promised to release the Android 4.3 update for the HTC One by the end of September but failed to launch it. In fact the Verizon HTC One model still has no 4.3 update.
There is no doubt that HTC is working hard to deliver the best Android user experience to its users, but with the recent Android 4.3 update disappointment we aren’t sure that this update will land on time.
