It’s been about a week since Android 4.4 KitKat was announced and manufacturers have already given a release date for the new version of Android. As it is the case with HTC, the manufacturer has just announced when it is planning to update its popular phone, the HTC One will be updated to Android 4.4 during January for the United States and the United Kingdom.
Currently the Nexus 5 is the only phone or tablet with Android 4.4 KitKat, but that is about to change in the coming months. The Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 7, Nexus 10, and Google Edition phones (HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4) will be getting it in the next weeks.
Last year HTC has gave their customers Android updates as soon as possible and this update (4.4) is no exception, HTC promised to bring Android 4.4 within 90 days (It will arrive around January 29th) of its release. HTC also confirmed that all U.S. carriers will be getting the update. French carrier SFR also confirmed its plans to update the HTC One, making HTC have a greater impact on the Android world.
HTC won’t just upgrade to Android 4.4, it may also be including upgrades to HTC’s Sense 5.5 or maybe a bigger upgrade to the software (HTC Sense) as HTC has in previous major releases of android.
