HTC One Android 4.3 Sense 5.5 Update: Release Date Set Next Week?

HTC One Android 4.3 Sense 5.5 Update: Release Date Set Next Week? Verizon HTC One4 300x217HTC President Jason Mackenzie took to Twitter a few weeks ago to promise Android 4.3 updates for the HTC One and HTC DROID DNA. Now, he’s back with more information on these long-awaited updates.

In a tweet, Mackenzie stated that he was sending “a detailed update beginning of next week for all the skus”, which means we should see the Android 4.3 update for the HTC One by the end of the month.

The situation is less clear for the HTC DROID DNA, which as many of you will know is reportedly only seeing the Android 4.2 update this month, as opposed to the Android 4.3 update promised by Mackenzie. An insider at HTC, as well as Verizon themselves recently confirmed the Android 4.2 update was inbound. When questioned what the chances were of the DNA getting Android 4.3, Jason merely replied “good”, which is ultimately pretty darn vague. That said, a good chance of seeing the update is better than no chance, so hopefully DNA owners will get 4.3 soon, if not in the coming weeks.

Interestingly, according to one of the members over at XDA, we may see the Android 4.3 update for the HTC One on September 23rd. In the thread he details a webchat he had with a support worker at Sprint, who says that the update is to roll out in just a few days. This information is obviously unverified, but nevertheless is only a couple of days away from confirmation and would line up perfectly with Jason’s claim that the updates are going out at the beginning of next week. The plot thickens.

What are you hoping to see in the Android 4.3 Sense 5.5 update? Are you a disappointed DROID DNA owner? Let us know.
