When it comes to the iPhone 6, we thought we’d seen pretty much everything that could go badly, but we were wrong. Following Bendgate, a disaster in which various users reported the phone to bend in their own pockets, some are now reporting a new camera issue. The bug is difficult to describe (that’s why you can find a demonstration video below), but it basically involves a flaw in the optical image stabilization feature, creating wavy footage. The issue isn’t limited to video capture, and also affects photographs, rendering the camera useless. This is a huge issue which hasn’t been reported on any other device aside from the iPhone 6, so it’s something very serious that Apple needs to address as soon as possible.
A simple way to fix this problem quickly is to return your iPhone (as long as you have a warranty on it), or wait and see if and when Apple will recall affected devices. According to some reports, the iPhone 6 Plus is also affected by this bug. Here’s the video demonstrating the horrible blurry/wavy effect that’s being involuntarily caused by the iPhone 6’s broken camera.
iPhone 6 Plus Camera Blur Bug
This is definitely a serious issue, and it’s not the first. Apple has certainly stepped down the quality this year, but that didn’t really impact their success, as the tech giant has sold over 10 million units of their new devices since September. However, Apple will need to step up their game next year and make sure that customers who have already purchased their devices are fully satisfied, especially considering how expensive these products are.
Have you experienced this bug on your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus? If so, please let us know by leaving a comment, and rest assured we will let you know as soon as any news comes up.
